"The name is based on two of my best friends," Blanshay explains. "Lola is colourful and into fashion whereas Emily, who's kind of based on Sally, is always looking for the perfect black turtleneck. The idea is that everyone knows a Lola and an Emily and that everyone has a bit of both in them." - MONTREAL MIRRORLola & Emily is a quaint yet quirky boutique clothing store found in the Plateau area. Run by Marnie Blanshay and Sally Scott the uber-girlie store is part walk-in-closet part showroom, where clothes are encouraged to be mixed and matched. They offer an assortment of accessories, trendy fashions featuring Montreal designers and Scandinavian labels.
